COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS

Poland travel guide for competitors, officials and accompanying persons valid on 22.12.2021 for:

  • players,
  • coaching staff members,
  • doctors, physiotherapists,
  • arbiters,
  • accredited journalists.

Please register at the official webpage of the tournament https://worldrapidandblitz.fide.com/registration/ and provide all the necessary details

Exemption of participants of international sports competitions from mandatory quarantine.

  1. If you are a traveller arriving into Poland from Member States of the European Union, from within the Schengen Area and from Turkey, you are not subject to mandatory quarantine (hyperlink: https://www.gov.pl/web/coronavirus/eu-member-states-schengen-area-turkey ) if you submit one of the following documents
  • Valid EU Digital COVID Certificate (or another document in Polish or in English confirming vaccination with a vaccine which has been granted a marketing authorisation within the European Union).
  • Proof that you have recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infection (so-called “convalescents”) at most 6 months before the day on which they cross the border of the Republic of Poland. Convalescents are obliged to present a document confirming recovery from the disease, issued in Polish or in English, e.g. an EU Digital COVID Certificate,
  • a negative COVID-19 test result, confirmed by an EU Digital COVID Certificate or by another document in Polish or in English. The test must be performed at most 48 hours before the border is crossed
  1. If you are a traveller arriving into Poland from outside the European Union, the Schengen Area and Turkey, you are not subject to mandatory quarantine (hyperlink: https://www.gov.pl/web/coronavirus/outside-the-european-union-schengen-area-turkey ) if you submit one of the following documents
  • Valid EU Digital COVID Certificate (or another document in Polish or in English confirming vaccination with a vaccine which has been granted a marketing authorisation within the European Union).
  • Proof that you have recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infection (so-called “convalescents”) at most 6 months before the day on which they cross the border of the Republic of Poland. Convalescents are obliged to present a document confirming recovery from the disease, issued in Polish or in English, e.g. an EU Digital COVID Certificate,

Please check if you have or are eligible to receive a EU Digital COVID Certificate confirming that you:

• have completed a full vaccination cycle, and 14 days (counting from the day following the date of the final dose) have passed since their final dose, or

• have recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infection (so-called “convalescents”) at most 6 months before the day when you cross the border of the Republic of Poland

FIDE encourages all visitors regardless of whether they are subject to any exemptions to receive the EU Digital COVID Certificate if you are eligible to it in order to make your stay in Poland and / or other countries of the EU more comfortable.

For travellers arriving into Poland from outside the European Union, the Schengen Area and Turkey and having an official invitation from the Organising Committee, the requirement of having a negative PCR test made within 24 hours before crossing the border, counting from the time of the test result,does NOT apply (rule to be enforced from 22nd December, 2021)

Nevertheless, FIDE encourages all visitors regardless of whether they are subject to any exemptions to make a COVID test within 24 hours before crossing the border of Poland, counting from the time of the test result.

Please be informed that in accordance to FIDE Covid guidelines competitors and/or other members of delegation will be selected for rapid COVID test on 26.12. Details (time, place, etc.) will be provided in due time (eventual changes to the Guidelines may be made taking into account the development of the situation and national legislation)
